Claim 19 recites a convertible wafer transfer machine, comprising, inter alia, a base plate having a first portion upon which transferor carriers are supported and a second portion upon which receiver carriers are supported; a first axial positioner removably disposed on the first portion of the base plate; a second axial positioner removably disposed on the second portion of the base plate; a third axial positioner removably disposed on the second portion of the base plate; and transverse positioners attached to opposing sides of the base plate. The appellants argue that the applied prior art does not suggest the claimed subject matter. We agree. Specifically, the applied prior art does not teach or suggest transverse positioners attached to opposing sides of the base plate.
