Claims 10 and 21 The appellants argue that the claims “require[] that the first material, which is for dispensing ink, be compressed ‘... only sufficiently for outwards holding pressure against the cartridge body.’ This cannot be true of the ink- dispensing material in the Koitabashi, et al. reference, because, as shown in Figs. 35-37 it is the most compressed in order to achieve its ink-supplying function clearly shown by the heavy arrows in Fig. 37, for example.” (Appeal Br. at 15.) The examiner responds, “Koitabashi et al disclose ... initial outer dimensions of the first material exceed inner dimensions of an accommodating space for the first material (pg. 10, lines 10-12).” (Final Rejection at 2.)
