BACKGROUND
The appellants' invention relates to surgical cutting instruments (specification, p.
1). A copy of the claims under appeal is set forth in the appendix to the appellants'
brief.
The prior art references of record relied upon by the examiner in rejecting the
appealed claims are:
Trott 4,646,738 March 3, 1987
Krause et al. (Krause) 5,152,744 October 6, 1992
Claims 1 to 3, 5 and 10 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 102(b) as being
anticipated by Trott.
Claims 4 and 11 to 13 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being
unpatentable over Trott.
Claims 1 to 13 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over
Trott in view of Krause.
