Appeal No. 1999-1002 Application No. 08/672,493 pending in this application. The subject matter on appeal is adequately illustrated by independent claim 17, a copy of which taken from the appellants' brief is appended to this decision. All of the claims on appeal stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 102(b) as being anticipated due to the claimed invention having been on sale and/or in public use more than one year prior to the filing date of the application. In the alternative, the examiner has rejected all of the claims on appeal under 35 U.S.C. § 103(a) as obvious over the subject matter which was in public use and/or on sale more than one year prior to the application filing date. The subject matter on appeal relates to a method for manufacturing a polymeric printing member (or fuser roll) for use in a printing machine (or xerographic copier).
