A central filling, which can comprise peanut butter and jelly, is applied so as to be disposed between the bread portions. The filling does not extend into the compressed sealed area. Spaced depressions of compacted/crimped bread can be formed in the sealed marginal area to furnish more sealing force and prevent separation of the cut bread portions at the outer perimeters. A further understanding of the invention can be derived from a reading of exemplary claims 45 and 46, which are reproduced below. 45.
