Appeal No. 2003-1955 Application 09/447,544 specification. Figure 1 shows a block diagram of a column driver circuit. Figure 2 shows a first embodiment according to the Appellant’s invention. See page 18 of Appellant’s specification. Figure 2 shows a plurality of column driver circuits 12, each being adapted for selectively reading the appropriate column. The output generated by each column driver 12 is multiplexed onto a test line 18 by multiplexer circuits 19, and further multiplexed by multiplexer circuit 20 with the output 21 of the spare column driver 10 to the column drive line of the column drive circuit 23 under test. See page 20 of Appellant’s specification. The multiplexed line 18 is fed to an analog comparator 25, and compared against the output 21 of the spare column driver 10. If the comparator 25 determines that the column driver circuit 23 on the test is defective, the column driver circuit under test is replaced with spare column driver circuit 10. See page 21 of Appellant’s specification. Independent claim 1 is representative of Appellant’s claimed invention and is reproduce as follows: 1. A matrix access system having a plurality of columns, comprising: (a) a plurality of circuits each being adapted for selectively accessing one of said columns; (b) an interface, communicating data with said plurality of 2Page: Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 NextLast modified: November 3, 2007
