                                 DECISION ON APPEAL                                   
               This is a decision on appeal from the final rejection of               
          claims 31-44.                                                               
               The invention is directed to a system for facilitating                 
          access to digital video by permitting a user to indicate a                  
          starting frame of a video sequence and a time interval of the               
          sequence, with an automatic display of a thumbnail depiction of a           
          series of frames from the selected starting frame to a frame
