representations comprise characters, letters, and, sometimes, numbers.
Furthermore, Williams' "content pane . . . presents the set of content information
associated with a location of the plurality of locations that is selected in the scoping
pane by the user. . . ." Col. 9, ll. 11-14. In the aforementioned example, because a
user has selected the " IP Internet" location 15, the content plane 14, which is also a
content window, displays the content of that location. The non-selected locations (e.g.,
"| Segment 1," and "| Segment 2") are shown only as minimized representations in
the scoping window 16.
When the user selects a different location (e.g., "| Segment 1") the content
window displays the content of that location as shown by Figure 1b of the reference.
