Appeal No. 2004-1747 Application No. 09/932,723 an impermeable inner layer made from a second impermeable material, said impermeable outer layer, middle layer, and impermeable inner layer forming an exterior wall defining an internal cavity; and a valve penetrating said exterior wall in communication between the exterior of said exterior wall and said internal cavity. The examiner relies upon the following references as evidence of obviousness: Lucas 3,667,625 June 6, 1972 Baxter 3,939,995 Feb. 24, 1976 Leidig 5,195,650 Mar. 23, 1993 Appellant's claimed invention is directed to an inflatable bladder that is used in package transport. The bladder comprises inner and outer impermeable layers and a middle layer formed from a puncture resistant material. Appealed claim 3 stands rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103(a) as being unpatentable over Baxter in view of Leidig. Claims 4-6 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103(a) as being unpatentable over the stated combination of references in further view of Lucas. Appellant does not present separate arguments for any particular claim on appeal. Rather than advancing a substantive argument with respect to the rejection of claims 3 and 4, appellant solicits the entry of amendments after final rejection -2-Page: Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 NextLast modified: November 3, 2007
