BACKGROUND
The appellants’ invention relates to a re-configurable roof rack system for a
vehicle including at least one storage surface having a first position generally coincident
with the roof of the vehicle and a second position generally coincident with a side of the
vehicle. A copy of the claims under appeal is set forth in the appendix to the appellants’
brief.

The Rejections
The following rejections are before us for review.
Claims 35 and 37-39 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 112, first paragraph, as
containing subject matter which was not described in the specification in such a way as
to reasonably convey to one skilled in the art that appellants, at the time the application
was filed, had possession of the claimed invention.
Claims 35 and 37 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 102(e) as being anticipated
by Aftanas.
