DECISION ON APPEAL This is a decision on appeal under 35 U.S.C. §134 from the examiner's final rejection of claims 46-49 which are all of the claims on appeal1 in this application. These claims read as follows: 46. A method of treating neural or cardiac tissue damage resulting from a disease or condition in a mammal in need thereof, comprising administering to said mammal a therapeutically effective amount of an inhibitor of poly(ADP-ribose) glucohydrolase. 47. The method of claim 46, wherein the disease or condition is ischemia, reperfusion injury, neurodegenerative disease, neurological disease, head trauma, cardiovascular disease, heart attack, and vascular stroke. 1 Claims 1-25, 28-31 and 35-38 have been withdrawn from consideration by the examiner but are still pending.
