Appeal No. 2006-0360 Application No. 10/388,691 As to claim 26, the examiner points to Central Station 14 of Garfinkle for the teaching of maintaining on a server video content that may be served to a client device (referring to column 2, lines 66-67) for transmitting a video from a server 14 to a client device (elements 18 and 24). The examiner points to column 3, lines 27- 30, of Garfinkle for a disclosure of receiving at the server a request from the client device (elements 18 and 24) to rent the video for a specified period of time. The examiner further notes column 3, lines 37-39, for the user requesting how long to rent the video upon request. The examiner points to column 3, lines 39-40 of the reference for the rental time period being fixed (stored) at the server. Moreover, the examiner points to column 3, lines 12-26, and 30-48, of the reference for the teaching of transmitting the video content to the client device one or more times during the rental period.
