DECISION ON APPEAL
This is a decision on the appeal under 35 U.S.C. § 134 from the
examiner’s rejection of claims 1-22, which constitute all the claims pending in this
application.
The disclosed invention pertains to a wireless communication network with
multiple mobile nodes that each comprises a wireless transceiver, directional
antenna, omni-directional antenna, and a controller. The controller (1)
establishes an omni-directional communication link with another mobile node, (2)
determines a link quality value for the omni-directional link, and (3) establishes a
directional communication link if the link quality value for the omni-directional link
