Appeal 2006-2948 Application 10/194,872 filing said at least one property under at least one of a pre-settable felt name and a pre-settable screen name in a historical database; recording graphically said at least one property by way of at least one of an evaluation unit and a control unit relative to a time of a change for the at least one of a felt and a screen thereby providing a second property development over time; comparing said second property development over time with said first property development over time; anticipating a worsening condition of the dewatering of the fiber web; at least one of signaling and triggering at least one counter measure if said second property development over time one of differs by a pre-settable measure from said first property development over time and lies outside a pre-settable range; and preventing said worsening condition with said at least one counter measure. The Examiner relies upon the following reference in the rejection of the appealed claims: Bloice GB 2,061,341 A May 13, 1981 Appellants' claimed invention is directed to a method of monitoring the state of a felt or screen that dewaters a fibrous web.
