Claims 31-33 have been indicated as containing allowable subject matter [Answer, page 3; Reply Brief, page 1]. The disclosed invention pertains to modeling at least one section of a curve utilizing a quartic interpolation technique. Each section can be modeled by initially providing a pair of positions of the curve section including associated directions and curvatures. Then, points b0, b1, b2, b3, and b4 are identified based upon the pair of positions and associated directions and curvatures.
