Appeal 2007-0817 Application 10/992,253 The claimed invention is directed to a propeller positioning system which, when the position of a propeller is adjusted, constrains the propeller to follow a path generally parallel to the bottom surface of the boat to be propelled. Claim 35 reproduced below, is further illustrative of the claimed subject matter. 35. A boat, comprising: a hull comprising a first and second bottom surfaces on either side of a longitudinal vertical centerplane and sloped relative to each other; and a propulsion system, comprising: a drive system comprising a propeller positioned rearward of said first and second bottom surfaces; and a propeller positioning system which constrains movement of said propeller to follow a first path that is generally parallel to said first bottom surface and a second path that is generally parallel to said second bottom surface; wherein said first and second paths are independent.
