If the one glue strand, e.g. 5, consists of a melt glue, it is suitable that the other glue strand consist of a glue which has such properties that the glue wets the sleeve material and penetrates in between the fibres and sets, for example, by drying. Such properties possess a dispersion glue or PVA glue. (Specification, 2:22-29). 2. Erkkila teaches a method and apparatus for end-to-end joining of paper roll cores (Erkkila, col. 1, ll. 4-5). 3. Erkkila provides “the abutting core end surfaces ... or at least one of them, is treated in a conventional manner with a glue of appropriate grade such as latex dispersion glue.” (Erkkila, col. 4, ll. 30-33). Erkkila thus discloses one type of glue that meets the limitations of the “second glue” of the disputed claims. 4. Erkkila enables multiple joining operations, wherein a “previous joint remains rigidly clamped within the clamp sleeve structure, whereby the glue in the joint is given a sufficient time to set while the joint is subjected to both an axially applied abutting force and a radially applied compression that performs trueing of the joint shape.” (Erkkila, col. 4, ll. 41-47). 5. When required, the setting of the glue in the joint can be accelerated by heating the jacket of the clamp sleeve assembly (Erkkila, col. 4, ll. 49- 51).
