Hsieh’s device contains a weighing device, a display screen, and letter 9 sorting keys (Hsieh 2:36-50). 10 05. After Hsieh weighs a letter or parcel, the weight of the letter will be 11 shown on the display screen. The customer may then choose the type of 12 mailing service which sort of mailing type desired by depressing one of 13 the letter-sorting keys. The postage is then calculated according to the 14 weight of the letter and the type of mailing service which the operator 15 selects.
