Arrest of person with disability: Interpreter to be made available. [Effective July 1, 2005.] Upon the arrest of a person with a disability as defined in NRS 50.050, and before his interrogation or the taking of his statement, the peace officer in actual charge of the station, headquarters or other facility to which the person with a disability has been brought shall make an interpreter who is qualified to engage in the practice of interpreting in this state pursuant to subsection 2 of NRS 656A.100 available at public expense to that person, subject to the provisions of NRS 50.052 and 50.053.
