Oregon Statutes - Chapter 165 - Offenses Involving Fraud or Deception - Section 165.515 - Bribery of telegraph company agents to disclose contents of message.

(1) Any person who, by the payment or promise of any bribe, inducement or reward, procures or attempts to procure any telegraphic agent, operator or employee to disclose any private message, or the contents, purport, substance of meaning thereof, or who offers to any such person any bribe, compensation or reward for the disclosure of any private information received by such person by reason of trust, or who uses or attempts to use information so obtained, shall be punished upon conviction by a fine not to exceed $1,000, or imprisonment not to exceed one year, or both.

(2) Any person violating this section shall be liable in a civil suit for all damages occasioned thereby.
