The constable shall collect in advance in civil cases for each service performed in the execution of official duties the fees fixed by law to be charged for the same or a similar service by the sheriff of the county wherein such constable has been selected. The constable shall, not later than the 15th day of the month following the month in which such fees are collected, pay them over to the county treasurer of the county wherein the constable has been selected, for crediting to the general fund of the county, and take the receipt of the treasurer for them.
