From 1967 through 1974, the Saints played their home games at a stadium owned by Tulane University (the Tulane stadium). The Tulane stadium is located in New Orleans. During that period, the Tulane stadium had an approximate seating capacity of 81,000 for football games. The Saints drew an average attendance per home game of approximately 70,966 while using the Tulane stadium. In 1975, the Saints began playing their home games at the New Orleans, Louisiana, Superdome (the Superdome). From 1975 through 1984, the Saints drew an average attendance per home game of approximately 55,000. Mecom, Jr., (Mecom) was a general partner and the principal investor (collectively, the Mecom Group).
