- 3 - At the time that the petition was filed, petitioner resided in Topeka, Kansas. At various times from 1990 through 1998, petitioner worked as a salesperson, sometimes as an independent contractor and sometimes as an employee, for no fewer than 10 to 15 companies. He sold various products or services, such as insurance, tax services, living trusts, precious coins, travel-related products, and food products. For 1993, the owner of the farm issued a Form 1099 to petitioner indicating that petitioner was paid $3,000 that year. On a loan application dated February 24, 1995, petitioner represented that his gross income was $1,000 per week. On another loan application dated November 29, 1995, petitioner represented that his income from farming was $20,000 per year. Petitioner signed both applications under penalties of perjury.
