Texas Vernon's Civil Statutes § 2700a Salary And Office Expenses Of Superintendent

Art. 2700a. SALARY AND OFFICE EXPENSES OF SUPERINTENDENT.

Section 1. That the salary of the Superintendent of Public Instruction in all counties in Texas having 210,000 population or more according to the last preceding Federal census, shall be from and after the passage of this act the sum of $4,800.00 (forty-eight hundred dollars) per annum and the same is fixed by this act at the sum.

Sec. 2. In making the annual per capita apportionment to the schools, the county school trustees of all counties having 210,000 population or more according to the last preceding Federal census shall also make an allowance out of the State and county available school funds for the payment of the salary of the Superintendent of Public Instruction of all counties having 210,000 population or more according to the last preceding Federal census $4,800.00 (forty-eight hundred dollars) and office expenses in any sum not exceeding $600.00 (six hundred dollars) per annum for stamps, stationery, expressage, and printing incidental to and necessary in the administration of his office; and shall be prorated to the schools in said county in proportion to the scholastic population of each district or community in the county that is under the jurisdiction and supervision of said county superintendent. And the Commissioners' Court of all counties having a population of 210,000 or more according to the last preceding Federal census may spend out of the general fund of said county any sum not exceeding the sum of $900.00 (nine hundred dollars) per annum to defray the travelling expenses of the County Superintendent.

Sec. 3. The salary and expenses for stamps, stationery, expressage and printing provided herein shall be paid monthly upon the order of the county school trustees; provided that the salary for the month of September shall not be paid until the said Superintendent of Public Instruction shall have presented a receipt or certificate from the State Superintendent of Public Instruction showing that he has made all reports required of him. That the travelling expenses provided for herein shall be paid monthly by the County Treasurer on order of the Commissioners' Court as said expenses may be incurred.
