§ 44-62. Members of naval reserve

Officers and enlisted personnel of the naval militia shall be required, in the discretion of the Secretary of the Navy, to be appointed or enlisted in the naval reserve in the grade, rank, or rating for which they may be found qualified in accordance with such special regulations as may be prescribed by the Secretary of the Navy. Unless within one year after the organization of any unit of the naval militia at least ninety-five per centum of its personnel has been appointed or enlisted in the naval reserve, it shall be disbanded, and thereafter, unless its organization, administration, and training conform to the standard prescribed by the Secretary of the Navy for such units, it shall be disbanded.
