              that appellants' circuit is not shown in Grebene's discussion of trimming is not probative of long-felt need.                               

              Long felt need must be for a solution to a real problem which has been recognized in the prior art or in the                                

              industry.  See generally E.W. Walker, Objective Evidence of Nonobviousness:  The Elusive Nexus                                              

              Requirement (Part II), 69 J. Pat. Off. Soc'y 230, 230-33 (May 1987).  Digitally controlled resistors and                                    

              capacitors were well known in the art as the many references in the record show.                                                            

                       For the reasons stated above, the rejection of dependent claim 5 is sustained.
