Appeal No. 96-1883 Application 08/078,380 THE REFERENCE The sole reference relied upon by the examiner to support the final rejection is: Whelan 4,299,518 Nov. 10, 1981 THE REJECTIONS Claims 1, 2, 5, 8, 15, 17, 18, 22, 25, 28 through 32, 34 and 35 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 112, first paragraph, as being based upon a specification which fails to adequately teach certain aspects of the invention that are recited in these claims. Claims 1, 2, 5, 8, 15, 17, 18, 22, 25, 28 through 32, 34 and 35 also stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 112, second paragraph, as failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the appellants regard as their invention. Claims 1, 2, 8, 15, 17, 18, 22, 25, 34 and 35 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 102(b) as being anticipated by Whelan. Claims 5 and 28 through 32 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over Whelan. The rejections are explained in the Examiner's Answer.
