The invention relates to a method and apparatus for correcting a distance error of a navigation apparatus which corrects the shift between a measured present position and an actual position on a road on which the movable body is travelling, so as to improve the accuracy of the present position on an electronic map. The independent claim 1 is reproduced as follows: 1.
