According to appellants, the invention is directed to a method of making partially fluorinated ethers by the catalyzed polycondensation reaction of a silyl ether with a fluorinated olefin at a reaction temperature in the range of about -50 to about 120EC. (brief, page 3). Claim 13 is illustrative of the subject matter on appeal and is reproduced below: 13. A process for producing partially fluorinated ethers, comprising the catalyzed polycondensation of a silyl ether and a fluorinated olefin in the presence of a suitable catalyst, conducted within a temperature range of -50BC to 120BC.
