Appeal No. 96-0196 Application 08/158,337 This is a decision on the appeal under 35 U.S.C. § 134 from the examiner's rejection of claims 2-21, which constitute all the claims remaining in the application. The invention pertains to a hand-held portable electronic device with a manually controllable cursor. The device has a small real image of a complete frame of alphagraphics and an enlarged virtual image which is viewed by the operator. A manual control mounted on the hand-held device allows control of the cursor in the virtual image. Representative claim 2 is reproduced as follows: 2.
