The appellant’s invention is directed to a method and apparatus for the separation by filtration of a solid phase and a liquid phase from sludge. The subject matter before us is illustrated by reference to claim 1 which, along with the other claims on appeal, has been reproduced in an appendix to the Appeal Brief. Claim 17 stands rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over Alvord in view of Wiederkehr.
