have made it obvious to one of ordinary skill in the art to modify a constant value of a deterministic
model with a probabilistic deviation by defining a distribution of degradation values surrounding an
expected degradation value at a particular time point to generate an index commensurate with an
uncertainty as recited in claim 1.
In view of the foregoing, the decision of the examiner rejecting claims 1 to 10 under 35
U.S.C. § 103 is reversed.
CONCLUSION
The decision of the examiner rejecting claims 1 to 10 under 35 U.S.C. § 103 over Clark in
view of Maguire is reversed.
