Appeal No. 1997-3823 Application No. 08/320,782 system are removably mounted and/or adjustably mounted on a frame that is supported on a user’s head so that the head mounted display system can accommodate different users and components of different configurations. Representative claim 1 is set forth below. 1. A head mounted display system comprising: a display that receives displayed information; a reflector that receives displayed information to allow a user to view the displayed information by viewing the reflector; a frame for supporting the display and the reflector on a user’s head; and an optical path adjusting system for allowing an optical path defined by the relative position of the reflector, the display and an eye of the user to be adjusted relative to at least two axes of the head mounted display system.
