Each pixel comprises a red sub-pixel, a blue sub-pixel, and a green sub-pixel. A chromatic modulator, positioned between the light source and the LCD screen, is tuned to a predetermined wavelength so as to transmit a predetermined portion of light energy that it receives at the predetermined wavelength to the LCD screen. Claim 10, which is representative for present purposes, follows: 10.
