Appeal No. 2001-2327 Page 2 Application No. 08/835,460 BACKGROUND The appellant's invention relates to a strut mount in a vehicular suspension system which receives a load from a shock absorber having a piston rod. A copy of the claims under appeal is set forth in the appendix to the appellant's brief. Claims 7 to 10 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over the admitted prior art shown in Figure 1 of this application (the admitted prior art) in view of 1 U.S. Patent No. 5,743,509 to Kanda et al. (Kanda). Rather than reiterate the conflicting viewpoints advanced by the examiner and the appellant regarding the above-noted rejection, we make reference to the answer (Paper No. 18, mailed January 22, 2001) for the examiner's complete reasoning in support of the rejection, and to the brief (Paper No. 17, filed January 2, 2001) and reply brief (Paper No. 19, filed March 26, 2001) for the appellant's arguments thereagainst.
