BACKGROUND The invention at issue on appeal relates to "speakerphones." A speakerphone is a telephone equipped with a loud speaker and a microphone that allows a person to converse on a telephone without using his hands. Freeing the hands facilitates note- taking; decreases neck, arm, and shoulder fatigue; and allows the person to move about the room during the conversation.
