Appeal No. 2000-0584 Application No. 08/845,673 fully met by the reference. Kalman v. Kimberly-Clark Corp., 713 F.2d 760, 772, 218 USPQ 781, 789 (Fed. Cir. 1983), cert. denied, 465 U.S. 1026 (1984). The examiner’s determination (see page 2 in the final rejection) that the German reference discloses each and every element of the grinding wheel recited in claim 51 is well founded. In this regard, the German disc’s bearing section 9, ring 8, metal strip 1 and sintered abrasive layer 6 meet the limitations in claim 51 relating to the base member, annular module, metallic ring and sintered abrasive coating, respectively. The appellant’s contention (see page 5 in the brief) that the German reference does not respond to the claim limitation requiring the inner circumference of the metallic ring to be free of the abrasive coating is belied by the relationship between the abrasive material/layer 2, 6 and the metal strip 2 shown in Figures 14 and 15.
