Appeal No. 2000-0584 Application No. 08/845,673 disclosed therein to the plastic bearing section of the German grinding disc. Instead, the appellant (see pages 7 and 8 in the brief) challenges the rejection on the basis of alleged deficiencies in the perforated metal strip 1 disclosed by the German reference. This line of argument is unpersuasive, however, because it is not commensurate with the actual scope of the claims. Therefore, we shall sustain the standing 35 U.S.C. § 103(a) rejection of claims 55 through 58 as being unpatentable over the German reference in view of Ries. NEW GROUNDS OF REJECTION The following rejections are entered pursuant to 37 CFR § 1.196(b). Claim 60 is rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103(a) as being unpatentable over the German reference in view of the admitted prior art.
