The 35 U.S.C. § 103(a) rejection of claims 55 through 58 as being unpatentable over the German reference in view of Ries Claims 55 through 57 depend ultimately from claim 51 and require that the base member include filling materials (claim 55) comprising fiber materials (claim 56) selected from a specific grouping of materials (claim 57). Claim 58 depends ultimately from claim 51 and requires heat conducting materials within the periphery of the plastic disc extending from the outer circumference of the plastic disc over a maximum range of 20 percent of the radial thickness of the grinding disc. As tacitly acknowledged by the examiner, the German reference does not meet these limitations. Ries discloses a grinding wheel composed of a resinoid abrasive rim bonded to a resinoid non-abrasive center. The non- abrasive center may include glass fibers and stainless steel wire screen to improve its strength and to control its shrinkage characteristics and thermal coefficient of expansion (see column 2, lines 18 through column 3, line 11; and column 4, lines 50 through 63).
