                                  DECISION ON APPEAL                                  
               This is a decision on appeal from the Examiner’s final                 
          rejection of claims 37-71 and 75.  Claims 1-36, 72-74 and 76 have           
          been canceled.                                                              
               We reverse.                                                            
                                     BACKGROUND                                       
               Appellants’ invention is directed to an optical device used            
          in recording or reproducing information signals for an optical
