Appeal No. 2005-0524 Application No. 10/028,124 of ordinary skill in the art in possession thereof. In re Spada, 911 F.2d 205, 15 USPQ2d 1655 (Fed. Cir. 1990). The examiner applies Noyama to the subject matter of instant claim 1 by interpreting the composite image of Noyama (50 in Figure 1) as the claimed “image samples” (IS); the original CG image (20 in Figure 1) as the claimed “image sample values,” and the transformation data memory 21 as creating the mask from the CG model 12. The examiner further notes that the 2-D coordinate values of the projected image in Noyama contributes to the generation of the composite CG image, “similar to the geometric parameters used to generate the mask of applicant’s invention” (answer-page 3). The examiner also cites column 11, line 57, through column 12, line 44, and Figure 11, of Noyama as evidence of texture mapping of the CG image to create the composite CG image utilizing the mask to only transform pixels of a selected region and an intrinsic image to map color information to the composite CG image. The examiner appears to have established a prima facie case of anticipation by analyzing instant claim 1, step by step, and showing correspondence between the method of Noyama and each of the steps of the instant claimed method.
