Appeal No. 2005-0784 Application No. 10/138,315 In the above discussed modification proposed by the examiner, the resultant folded booklet would contain only a plurality of folds which are parallel to the single glue path of the modified Lyon method (e.g., again note the examiner’s aforequoted conclusion that it would have been obvious to fold the resultant booklet of Lyon “about folding lines that are parallel to a glue line” (answer, page 4) and again see Figure 3b of DeLise). While Lyon’s unmodified method of manufacturing multiple booklets via multiple glue lines may include folds that are transverse as well as parallel to the glue lines, the applied references do not support a conclusion that it would have been obvious to alter this method so as to manufacture only a single booklet using only a single glue line while somehow maintaining a plurality of folds which are both parallel as well as transverse to the glue lines. To the contrary, as properly emphasized by the appellants, DeLise explicitly teaches away from such a modification at lines 26-31 in column 1 (“Combining parallel folds and cross folds on a large printed sheet is a complex operation requiring parallel folding machines and separate cross folding machines.
