(Imran) 5,766,203 Jun. 16, 1998 (effective filing date Jul. 20, 1995) THE REJECTIONS The claims stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as follows: claims 1, 4-8, 11-15, 17 and 18 over Chu in view of Guenther, and claims 2, 3, 9, 10 and 16 over Chu in view of Guenther and Imran. OPINION We reverse the aforementioned rejections. We need to address only the independent claims, i.e., claims 1, 6 and 13, each of which claims an apparatus for occlusion of a blood vessel. Claim 1 requires an expandable and contractible metallic braided structure having a covering that is movable with the braided structure during expansion thereof and is capable of substantially sealing engagement with a wall of the vessel to interrupt fluid flow therethrough.
