Appeal 2007-0617 Application 10/292,321 teaches appropriate current densities and voltages (e.g., col. 3, ll. 22-36). Since Venkatachalam teaches that AC and DC electrolysis of superalloys proceed “[u]nder similar conditions,” it would have been well within the ordinary skill in this art to employ the values for the operating parameters as taught by Krynitz in the process of Venkatachalam (Venkatachalam, p. 130, right col.). We note that Appellants have not argued or presented any showing of unexpected results. For the foregoing reasons and those stated in the Answer, we affirm the rejection of claims 1-3 and 5-8 under § 103(a) over Venkatachalam in view of Krynitz. The decision of the Examiner is affirmed. No time period for taking any subsequent action in connection with this appeal may be extended under 37 C.F.R. § 1.136(a)(1)(iv)(2007).
