Appeal 2007-3386 Application 10/375,889 Appellants’ invention is directed to a non-pigmented ink. The ink includes a carrier liquid, hollow micro-spheres, and a cross-linkable resin binder composition. The ink is disclosed as being heat resistant. Claim 1 is illustrative and reproduced below: 1. A non-pigmented heat resistant ink comprising: (a) a carrier liquid; (b) hollow micro-sphere polymer particles having a particle size of between 0.2 to 1.5 micron, characterized in that said hollow micro-sphere polymer particles are cross-linked at a level of from at least 2 mole percent based on total mole of monomer used in the particle; and (c) a crosslinkable resin binder composition consisting of copolymers selected from the group of monomers, in polymerized form, of (meth) acrylic acid esters, acrylonitrile, acrylamide, itaconic acid, n-methylolacrylamide, and mixtures thereof.
