Oregon Statutes - Chapter 411 - Adult and Family Services; Public Assistance - Section 411.610 - Indorsement by others of public assistance checks or warrants payable to deceased recipient; disposition of proceeds.

Any check or warrant issued by the Department of Human Services to a recipient of public assistance who subsequently dies may be indorsed in the name of the deceased by the surviving spouse or a next of kin in the order described in ORS 293.490 (3); and payment may be made and the proceeds used without any of the restrictions enumerated in ORS 293.495 (1).
