If it reasonably appears that a customer who is a recipient of public assistance has assets in excess of those allowed to a recipient of such assistance under applicable federal and state statutes and regulations, and it reasonably appears that such assets may be transferred, removed, secreted or otherwise disposed, then the Department of Human Services may seek appropriate relief under ORCP 83 and 84, or any other provision of law but only to the extent of the liability. The state shall not be required to post a bond in seeking the relief. [1987 c.438 §6; 2001 c.900 §91]
