(1) After the State Department of Agriculture receives an application for a license as required under ORS 583.445 and after it has been furnished sufficient information by the applicant to make such determination, when the license is issued the department shall designate on the license which of the following categories of type of operation the licensee is authorized to operate and engage in:
(a) A handler as defined in ORS 583.007 (5), or
(b) A producer-handler as defined in ORS 583.007 (12) and other provisions or rules relating thereto.
(c) Any other category or type of operation deemed necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of this chapter.
(2) After July 1, 1967, the department shall without cost to the licensees, reissue licenses to those persons who as of such date were licensed under ORS 583.445 and shall designate on the reissued licenses, or on new licenses, the categories or types set forth in subsection (1)(a) to (c) of this section. Any licensee shall at the request of the department immediately furnish information which may be necessary in order for the department to make the proper determination. [1967 c.440 §5(1),(2)]
