(1) A license authorized by ORS 687.405 to 687.495 is required only for purposes of reimbursement under medical assistance programs and is not required for the practice of direct entry midwifery in this state.
(2) Nothing in ORS 687.405 to 687.495 is intended to require a direct entry midwife to become licensed as described in ORS 687.420 (2). [1993 c.362 §11]
