§ 15.2-1743. Bond of special police officers
Before entering upon the duties of his office, any person initially appointed on or after July 1, 1996, shall give bond in the penalty of such sum as may be fixed by the court, with approved security before the circuit court clerk, with condition faithfully to discharge his official duties. No bond shall be required, however, if the person so appointed has successfully completed the minimum entry-level law-enforcement training requirements established by the Department of Criminal Justice Services under § 9.1-102 within three years of the date of initial appointment or has been employed as a law-enforcement officer as defined by § 9.1-101 within the preceding three years.
